From Cheri Lucas Rowlands, the theme this week is The Golden Hour…
The Golden Hour. In photography, the “golden hour” is the first and last hour of sunlight of the day. Photographers venture out on sunrise hikes or sunset treks to capture a magical shot, due to the quality of the light during that time of day.
Not being a morning person, I have more sunset photographs than sunrise ones.
However, since the romblon leaf market is at sunrise, one has to wake up pretty early if you want to see how it works, or get the best leaves for mats, wine bottle bags, boxes and gift totes.
Here are a few photos of romblon leaf sellers unloading their banka (outrigger) boats and bringing in bundles of leaves to sell at the weekly market. They usually pull in from surrounding islands right before sunrise.
I love this “golden hour” as no matter what type of camera you have (this set was taken with super simple and inexpensive canon digital), the photos seem to always have something special about them.
