Coconut Botay Twig Table Runner – Size 48″

Notes/Special Instructions (if any): Sold Out

An attractive and rustic twig table runner, hand-fastened with natural (and super sturdy) abaca twine.  Use several runners across the table as place mats.  Adds an interesting texture and a touch of nature to your table setting.

Botay — pronounced “Boh Tie” —  is the native Visayan  name for the coconut flower spikelets used in our rustic table runners, coasters  and soap holders.

We work with a family that collects the twigs and hand-fastens the twigs with natural abaca twine.

Longer twig runners can also be used across the table as placemats. Above photo features our 6 ft. long botay twig runner.

Coconut Botay is abundant in the coconut producing regions of the Philippine Islands.  It is a material that would otherwise be a waste product from Copra — the dried coconut meat used to make coconut oil.  Also available in size 36 inches, or 72 inches.

About the Coconut Tree (Cocos Nucifera):

In the Philippines, the coconut tree is referred to as The Tree of  Life.  Practically all parts of the coconut, from the trunk, the fruit to the leaves and fronds are used locally or for a commercial purpose.

We feature rustic table runners, coasters, and soap holders made from coconut botay. We also make napkin rings from coconut wood.  And coming soon, more products from this tree of life!

Additional Details: 4 feet long, Style BTRN48"
